From 1st September 2025, Wide Way Medical Centre will be moving to a Total Triage Model. This means:
- All GP appointment requests (urgent or routine) must be submitted online via eConsult on our website.
- Walk-ins and phone booking for GP appointments will no longer be available.
Once you submit an eConsult, a GP will review it and decide on the most appropriate next step. You’ll be notified of the outcome by text or email. We aim to respond within 48 hours (excluding weekends and public holidays – these will be reviewed the next working day).
To help us prepare, we will be trialling the new system on:
- Tuesday 12th August
- Tuesday 18th August
On these dates, we ask all patients to use eConsult for new appointment requests. This will help us improve the system before the full launch in September.
You can still call or come in to:
- Book nurse-led appointments, such as:
- Cervical screening (smear tests)
- Childhood immunisations
- Injections (including B12 follow-ups)
- Cardiovascular checks and NHS Health Checks
- Wound care and dressing changes
- Cancel or reschedule an existing appointment:
- Get help using eConsult – our reception team is here to guide you
- Tablets will be available in the waiting area for support with submitting eConsults
- Repeat prescriptions should be ordered via:
- NHS App
- Prescription email
- Your nominated pharmacy
(Please do not use eConsult for medication requests)
We understand that not everyone finds online systems easy. Our team is here to support you and ensure no one is left behind. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
