Due to the Covid-19 Coronavirus Crisis we will be focusing on the core services to ensure the safety of our staff, families and patients. We have had to decide what services we are unable to offer during this time of unprecedented medical demand and widespread staff absence.

We have previously issued guidance on our website regarding Coronavirus related medical certificates or documentation.

From today this extends to all other types of sickness or fitness certification.

Therefore:

• We will not be issuing any medical certificates/med 3s/‘fit notes’ until further notice.
• Any patients who request a medical certificate or ‘fit note’ will be advised to self-certify for the first 7 days then will be directed to this letter on our website to hand to their employer/benefits agency.
• We ask employers and benefits agencies to use their discretion and the history of the patient or representative, as well as any previous sick notes for long term illness, when making decisions during this time.
• We cannot take responsibility for any employers or benefits agency inflexibility due to lack of med 3 / fit notes during this global emergency.

No discussion will be entered into.
